I'm 67 years and 3 months old. For over 30 years, I've had a receding hairline, about two inches lost up front, and steady thinning on top, especially at the part and crown. It gradually crept up over time.

After research, I compared two local hair restoration clinics: Restore Hair and a well-advertised competitor. Both quoted fair prices and similar graft numbers for my desired results.

Joe, Restore Hair's client advisor, made the difference. He was exceptionally patient, professional, and caring, answering every question via email, text, or phone promptly and thoroughly. I initially favored the other clinic, but Joe's clear explanations, thoughtful incentives, and emphasis on Restore's strong guarantee won me over. His ongoing follow-up showed genuine commitment to my comfort with the choice.

The Day of the Procedure
I met Dr. Harris that morning. He carefully mapped my new hairline, confirmed the graft count, and approached everything with a calm, approachable demeanor. No rush, no impersonal feel. It immediately eased my nerves. They then moved me to the operating room, shaved my head, and prepared.

A minor issue arose: my blood pressure was elevated at first, likely from too much morning coffee (which I hadn't realized could impact it). The team quickly addressed it with medication, and we proceeded smoothly. Joe stopped by beforehand to wish me luck. A small gesture that meant a lot.

An IV helped me relax into a light twilight state; much of the day passed in a doze. They paused for lunch midway, then continued. I woke later to a staff member ensuring I was alert enough for a brief aftercare video.

Recovery So Far
Day one focused on protecting the grafts, no touching or bumping. They provided a shower cap under a surgical cap for safety. (Note: sedation means no driving home.)

Pain was minimal; I never needed the prescribed meds. Mild swelling appeared over the next three days, settling around my eyes before resolving by day four or five. Some tightness in treated areas was expected.

I'm now on day seven post-op. Progress looks normal: scabs are shedding in donor and recipient areas, and grafts feel secure. I continue gentle care with daily pours of water and baby shampoo mixture, avoiding direct shower spray.

Bottom Line
You're never too old for this. I deliberated for years before deciding. It's a significant investment, but seeing the potential for a fuller hairline in the mirror makes me feel it's worthwhile. I decided that I'm worth the self-care at even at this age.

The day of the procedure was perfect. The staff was very kind and very eager to answer any questions that I had. The atmosphere was very chill and even though my procedure lasted almost 10 hours, it seemed like a couple hours at max. 

I had approximately 5400 graphs over a three year period (3 sessions). Results are great and I can't imagine where my hairline would have gone over that time. My client advocate was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the process.
